Ruh.İllustrations is a Baku based children’s book illustration studio founded by Ruhulla Hasanzadeh and Shukufa Hasanzadeh two artists whose work spans painting, illustration, and visual storytelling.
Ruhulla is a graduate of the Azerbaijan State Academy of Fine Arts and one of Azerbaijan’s most recognized young artists, with works exhibited internationally in Belgium, Russia, Turkey, and beyond. His solo exhibition “RUH” (Spirit) opened at Baku’s Modern Art Centre in December 2018. In 2023, he presented “Metamorphic Links: 70/30” a joint exhibition with his father, sculptor and artist Ibrahim Hasanov at the Museum Center in Baku. His collaborations include the French perfume brand Martin Micallef, and he has been a member of the European Academy of Natural Sciences since 2018.
Shukufa holds a degree in Painting from the Azim Azimzade Art College and continues her studies as a master’s student at the Azerbaijan State Academy of Fine Arts. Her work has been awarded at national competitions, collected by the Karabakh Revival Fund and the National Conservatory of Azerbaijan, and exhibited across international platforms including Berlin and Kyrgyzstan.
Together, they have been working in children’s book illustration since 2015 with nearly 100 books to their name. Their work has been presented at the Baku International Book Fair and the Bologna Children’s Book Fair, one of the most prestigious publishing events in the world.
